Late Friday night, two youths attacked Ravi Bhagat, the priest of Kali Mandir in Janta Colony, Faridabad, with knives. Before slitting his throat, the attackers also raised a slogan of religious frenzy. The injured Ravi Bhagat has been admitted to Fortis Escorts Hospital in a critical condition. Saran police station has registered a case and started searching for the accused. A heavy police force has been deployed at the spot. Ravi is said to be a close supporter of Cabinet Minister Moolchand Sharma.

Ravi Bhagat is a priest at a temple in the colony. He was sleeping on a cot near the temple at night. Then some youths came and first they raised slogans of religious frenzy and then attacked him with knives. People nearby heard the attackers raising such slogans. At the same time, Bittu Bajrangi, an accused in the Nuh riots, has called a Hindu Sabha near Janta Colony. In view of this, a heavy police force has been deployed on the spot.

Saran police station in-charge Kuldeep says that the attack has definitely been done but there is no mention of religious frenzy. The condition of the injured is said to be fine now. The police team has started searching for the accused. This attack has been done due to enmity. The enmity will be known only after the attackers are arrested.
