Delhi DDA News: After the announcement by Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Wednesday issued necessary guidelines regarding electricity connections. For this, following the instructions issued by LG Vinay Saxena, DDA has given approval to discoms to provide electricity connections without the requirement of any NOC.

According to the guidelines issued by DDA regarding electricity connections, under the Master Plan of Delhi-2021, everyone within the land pooling area will have to follow the Land Pooling Policy of 2018. Barring a few exceptions, unauthorized activities are completely prohibited.

These are the guidelines issued by DDA

People living in urban areas covered in the Master Plan of Delhi-2021 can take advantage of this initiative of DDA. A DDA spokesperson confirmed that the discoms have now been authorized to release new electricity connections suo motu for construction within the notified PM-Uday Colonies, Lal Dora and Extended Lal Dora areas.

Now electricity connections can be provided even in the vacant areas of private land which are surrounded by PM-Uday colonies. Additionally, in cases where permanent electricity connections were already surrendered due to reconstruction, renovation or change in ownership, DISCOMs have been empowered to release fresh connections suo motu.

Now no need for DDA NOC

According to Dr. Vikram Singhal, Director of Land Pooling in DDA, discoms no longer require additional NOC or approval from DDA for providing electricity connections. Chief Minister of Delhi Atishi had said on Wednesday that DDA’s approval will not be required for taking electricity connections and installing meters in 1,731 unauthorized colonies of the city.

What is DDA’s land pooling policy?

DDA Land Pooling Policy was notified in October 2018. Its objective was to promote planned urban development in 105 urbanized villages of Delhi. Under this scheme, land owners have to create a pool of their land under the land pooling policy of Delhi Development Authority (DDA). Developer organizations are also involved in this. Under this policy, land owners have to provide the facility to build flats even for the economically weaker sections.
