Criminal arrested with heroin sentenced to four years in prison, youth was caught in bus during checking

Himachal Pradesh News: A special court in Shimla has sentenced a youth arrested with heroin to four years of rigorous imprisonment. The youth was arrested on November 29, 2019. The police team was patrolling near Tara Devi when the police stopped a Volvo bus. This bus was coming to Shimla from Chandigarh. This bus was checked. 

A young man sitting on seat number 17 of the bus was asked the reason for the success. The young man could not give any satisfactory answer. After this, the police interrogated him. The police searched the young man. The young man was sitting with a white plastic sheet. During the search, 10 grams of heroin was recovered from this plastic sheet.

Statements of witnesses recorded during the hearing
According to the prosecution, when the police inquired, it was found that the name of the youth is Rahul Chauhan. He is a resident of Hatkoti of Jubbal. At that time, the age of the accused youth was 23 years. Case number 272/19 was registered against Rahul Chauhan in Baluganj police station on 30 November 2019. Police registered a case against the accused under section 21 of the NDPS Act. During the hearing in the court, statements of a total of nine witnesses were recorded in the court.

Fine of 25 thousand along with four years imprisonment
This case was pleaded by Advocate One Kapil Mohan of Shimla district. The special court of Judge Devendra Kumar Sharma declared the accused Rahul Chauhan guilty after proof and sentenced him to four years of rigorous imprisonment. Besides this, a fine of 25 thousand rupees has also been imposed on the criminal Rahul Chauhan, son of Surendra Chauhan. If the criminal does not pay this fine of 25 thousand rupees, then in this case he will have to undergo an additional simple imprisonment of six months.
