Court grants bail to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in Delhi Waqf Board case

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan has got a big relief. Delhi Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to Amanatullah Khan in the case registered against him on the complaint of Enforcement Directorate (ED). The court has granted him bail on a personal bond of Rs 15,000 and the same amount. After getting bail, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan reached the party office.

He is an accused in the Delhi Waqf Board money laundering case. His appearance was today in Rouse Avenue Court. The ED had recently filed a complaint against him for not appearing before the agency and not joining the investigation in a case related to alleged irregularities in his appointment in the Delhi Waqf Board and leasing out of his properties.

ED had interrogated

Recently ED had interrogated Amanatullah Khan. AAP MLA reached ED office at 11 am on April 18. Where he was interrogated in the money laundering case related to Delhi Waqf Board. At that time it was also reported that ED had arrested him. However, after questioning he was let go.

Know what is Delhi Waqf Board case

Amanatullah Khan is accused of recruiting 32 people in violation of rules while working as the Chairman of Delhi Waqf Board. The allegation was that as the Chairman of Delhi Waqf Board, the AAP MLA had indulged in corruption and favouritism.

Apart from this, many properties of Delhi Waqf Board were illegally rented out. He was also accused of misusing board funds, including grants-in-aid from the Delhi government.
