Kota Greenfield Airport News: Kota’s dream of having an airport is going to come true soon. A tripartite MoU has been signed for the Kota Greenfield Airport. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the Kota Greenfield Airport will prove to be a milestone in providing state-of-the-art air facilities to the general public. Its construction will not only boost tourism in the state but will also increase education and business activities.

He said that development of aviation sector is important in achieving the goal of developed Rajasthan. He was presiding over a meeting held in the Chief Minister’s office on the tripartite MoU between the Airports Authority of India, Urban Development Department and Civil Aviation Department regarding the development of Kota Greenfield Airport. He said that at the same speed at which road and rail routes are expanding in the state, focus is being given on the air sector on the same scale.

The Chief Minister said that the construction of Greenfield Airport in Kota, a city of education and industries, will provide air facility to lakhs of residents of Hadauti region. There will be no shortage in achieving the resolution of our government.

Capacity of Jaipur airport terminal will also be expanded
He said that the capacity of Jaipur airport terminal is also being expanded. At present its capacity is 50 lakh passengers per year which will increase to 70 lakh per year after expansion. He urged the Chairman of Airports Authority of India to start work soon for the new state terminal at Jaipur airport. The Chief Minister said that the state government will provide free land for the development and expansion of Udaipur airport and permanent civil enclave and approach road at Uttarlai (Barmer) airport.

There should be planned development of the area near the airport
The Chief Minister directed the officials of Kota Vikas Pradhikaran to prepare a roadmap for planned development around the proposed airport. He said that the land around the airport should be acquired or planned through the Land Pooling Act and the development of the area should be carried out. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has also made special efforts for the Kota Greenfield Airport. He said that the previous government had a negative attitude towards the Kota Greenfield Airport due to which this project got delayed. But now our government will complete the work of this airport on time and dedicate it to the public.

DPR of Greenfield Airport is being prepared
Chairman of Airports Authority of India Sanjeev Kumar said that detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared for Kota Greenfield Airport. After this, tenders will be invited. Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department T. Ravikant told through a presentation that Greenfield Airport will be constructed on 440.086 hectares of land. This land is located in revenue village Tulsi, Kaithuda, Balapura and Deoria, District Bundi within the perimeter limit of Kota Development Authority. Out of this, 406.678 hectares of forest land and 33.408 hectares of non-forest land is owned by Kota Development Authority.

On this occasion, Chairman of Airports Authority of India Sanjeev Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister and Civil Aviation Shikhar Aggarwal and Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department T. Ravikant signed the MoU for the construction of Kota Greenfield Airport.
