The kitchen budget of the people of Bastar has been spoiled due to the sudden rise in the prices of green vegetables in all the vegetable markets of the district, the prices of potato and onion have crossed Rs 50 per kg, while the prices of green vegetables like cabbage, ladyfinger, capsicum, kunduru, barbatti, bitter gourd have also crossed Rs 70 to 80 per kg, apart from this, the price of tomato has also reached Rs 60 to 70 per kg, due to the continuous increase in the prices of vegetables for the last few days, the people of Bastar are facing the brunt of inflation in buying green vegetables.

Sanjay Adhikari, a vegetable seller at Sanjay Market in Jagdalpur city, said that after the onset of monsoon, the prices of vegetables are continuously increasing, due to the vegetables getting spoiled due to rain, their supply in the market is decreasing, and their prices are increasing a lot, even in the market, vegetable sellers are buying vegetables at very high prices, this is the reason that people coming to buy vegetables are reducing their purchases.

Vegetable prices have increased a lot since last 15 days
The poor and the general public cannot buy expensive vegetables, so there is a significant decline in the purchase of green vegetables. Vegetable seller Sanjay Adhikari said that the prices of vegetables may increase even more in the coming days, although nothing can be said about when their prices will decrease. At present, the prices of potatoes, onions, tomatoes and all green vegetables have increased a lot in the last 15 days.

The high prices of vegetables have messed up the kitchen budget
Here, cauliflower which was sold at Rs. 40 a few days ago is being sold at Rs. 80 to 100 per kg, whereas tomato which was sold at Rs. 20 per kg is being sold at Rs. 60 to 70 per kg. Along with this, the prices of other vegetables including ladyfinger, barbatti, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, pumpkin, kundru, coriander, chilli, onion, potato, red vegetable, spinach etc have also increased substantially. People reaching the market to buy vegetables say that the way the prices of vegetables are continuously increasing, the kitchen budget has gone haywire.

Where earlier they used to buy 3 to 4 kg of potatoes, onions and tomatoes, now due to their prices increasing by 2 to 3 times, they are reducing their purchases. Similarly, poor and middle class families, seeing the rapidly increasing prices of vegetables, are either satisfying their hunger with rice and dal or are buying green vegetables in very small quantities.
