Naxals killed in Chhattisgarh: Security forces have once again achieved a major success in the police-Naxalite encounter in Abujhmad, Chhattisgarh. In the encounter that took place last Tuesday, the soldiers killed 5 male Maoists of PLGA Battalion No. 1 of the Maoist organization and recovered weapons, a large amount of explosives and daily items of the Naxalites from the spot. The police is busy identifying the Maoists who have been killed by the soldiers in this encounter.
It is being told that a reward of lakhs of rupees was announced on the killed Naxalites. After getting concrete information, the soldiers launched an operation and raided the temporary camp of the Naxalites and encountered 5 Naxalites. However, the team of soldiers has not returned yet. Bastar IG Sundarraj P has said that full information about the encounter will be available after the return of the soldiers.
The killed Maoists were members of the PLGA battalion
Bastar IG Sundarraj P. said that on June 30, a joint team of DRG, STF, ITBP and BSF was sent from Kohkameta, Irkbhatti, Mohanti, Sonpur to the forests of Abujhmad. On July 2, several encounters took place between Maoists and soldiers since morning in the forests of Ghamandi and Hitulwad of Abujhmad. After the encounter, the bodies of a total of 5 male Maoists were recovered during the search in the area.
One 303 rifle, three 315 rifles and a large number of Bharmar, BGL cells and explosives were also recovered from the spot. The IG said that the Maoists with whom the encounter took place are probably members of PLGA Battalion No. 1 deployed for the security of the central committee member of the Naxal organization.
There are multiple layers of security for the Central Committee members. The process of identifying the killed Maoists is being carried out. The IG said that in the anti-Naxal operation being carried out in Bastar for the last 6 months, 136 Maoists have been killed by the soldiers so far and he has said that similar anti-Naxal operations will continue in the coming days.
1400 soldiers conducted the operation jointly
Actually, the Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district has been considered a very safe place for Naxalites, but for the last few months, Bastar Police has been focusing on this area and is continuously running joint Naxal operations in this area.
This time also, about 1400 soldiers from 5 districts had gone for searching in the Abujhmad area and during this time, they came face to face with the Naxalites and the soldiers got success in the encounter with the Naxalites. According to the information received from the IG, till now in the Abujhmad area alone, more than 40 Maoists have been killed by the soldiers in different encounters.
