UP News: In the famous Umesh Pal and two police constables murder case of Prayagraj, UP police has filed a chargesheet against Atiq Ahmed’s sons Umar and Ali Ahmed. Atiq’s elder son Mohammad Umar is lodged in Lucknow jail, while the second son Ali is lodged in Naini Central Jail of Prayagraj. Police have made Umar and Ali accused in the Umesh Pal shootout and charges have been framed against them.
This is the fourth chargesheet filed by Prayagraj Police in this case. Let us tell you that on 24 February 2023, the shooters of mafia Atiq carried out the incident in Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj. Umesh Pal and his two government gunmen were killed by firing bombs. The Prayagraj Police team went to Lucknow and Naini jail and recorded the statement of Umar and Ali. Atiq’s son Ali has revealed important secrets related to the conspiracy of the murder in his statement.
The police have made his statement a part of the case diary. Ali confessed that he was aware of the entire conspiracy before the murder. He also said that I was forbidding brother Asad to take part in the murder, but father Atiq Ahmed did not listen. Umar also confessed that he was involved in the conspiracy of this murder and the entire shootout was in his knowledge.
Charge sheets were filed in the Umesh Pal murder case earlier as well, the first charge sheet was filed against Sadakat Khan in May 2023. After this, the first supplementary charge sheet was filed on June 17, 2023 against eight accused including Khan Shaulat Hanif, Ikhlaq Ahmed. In October 2023, a charge sheet was filed in the court against Atiq’s family lawyer Vijay Mishra. The police had also opened a history sheet of Umar and Ali after the murder of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf. The history sheet was opened at Khuldabad police station in Prayagraj."text-align: justify;">Umar’s history sheet was given the number 57-B, while the history sheet number of his second son Ali Ahmed alias Ali Atiq is 48-B. Atiq’s history sheet number was 39 and Ashraf’s was 93-B. Atiq was the kingpin of the interstate gang IS-227, Atiq-Ashraf’s history sheet was opened in Khuldabad police station. The same police station made Umar and Ali numbered too. Mafia Atiq had more than 105 cases registered against him, while 3 cases were registered against Umar and 11 against Ali. Mafia Atiq Ahmed wanted to make his second son Ali Ahmed his successor. Atiq often told his close ones to make his son Ali his successor.
One of Atiq’s sons Asad has died in a police encounter. Asad Ahmed was involved in the Umesh Pal shootout, while among the remaining 4 sons, Ali is said to be the most cunning and has the most number of cases registered against him. Cases under serious sections have been registered against Ali in Kareli, Khuldabad, Dhoomanganj and other police stations. While in Naini Central Jail, cases of threatening, demanding ransom etc. have been registered against Ali.
After the Umesh Pal murder case, the police launched a campaign to eliminate mafia Atiq and his syndicate. Prayagraj Commissionerate Police has so far traced and seized movable and immovable properties worth about Rs 1800 crore belonging to Atiq, Ashraf, his family and IS-227 gang members. More than 200 criminals associated with the gang have been sent to jail, apart from many cities of UP, properties in Delhi and Noida have been seized. Teams have started tracking down properties related to Atiq in other cities and states, and crores of rupees invested in the businesses of big businessmen. Police action against Atiq and his close associates is still going on.
