Expansion

There is a possibility of a confrontation again in the Lok Sabha session starting on Monday after a two-day break. The opposition will corner the government on issues like misuse of central agencies, NEET and Agnipath. While the opposition has decided to protest in the Parliament House complex on Monday over the alleged misuse of central investigation agencies, the government has made it clear that it will not accept the opposition’s demand to first discuss the irregularities in NEET.

It is worth noting that the conflict between the government and the opposition started with the oath taking ceremony in the first session. As soon as the oath taking ceremony was completed, the battle of Save Constitution vs Emergency started between the government and the opposition. The resolution brought against the Emergency by the Chair in the Lok Sabha and the sharp criticism of the Emergency in the President’s address brought both the parties face to face. On Friday, the conflict in the Rajya Sabha increased so much that the opposition boycotted the proceedings for the whole day.

crisis over thanksgiving motion

There is a crisis of discussion on the motion of thanks brought by the opposition on the President’s address in both the houses of Parliament. Now only three working days are left in the current session. The opposition is adamant on discussing the NEET issue before discussing the motion. The government says that there is no tradition of any kind of discussion before discussing the motion of thanks. It is worth noting that the PM has to respond to the discussion in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday and in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

Both sides will make strategy

Before the proceedings begin on Monday, the parties in the opposition India Block and the government will hold separate meetings. In this meeting, the opposition will decide whether it will accept the government’s demand for discussion on the motion of thanks or stick to its demand for discussion on the NEET issue first. However, the government’s stand on this issue is clear. Government sources say that it will not accept the demand for discussion on any subject before the discussion on the motion of thanks.

Opposition is preparing for a fight for the deputy speaker

New Delhi (Himanshu Mishra). After the Lok Sabha Speaker’s post, the parties in the opposition alliance are now preparing to take on the Modi government for the post of Deputy Speaker. Although the opposition distanced itself from the demand for division of votes at the last moment in the Speaker’s election, but for this post it is preparing to demand division of votes and conduct a power test. There is a consensus among Congress, SP and TMC on contesting the elections.

It is worth noting that the budget session will be held in the last week of July. The name of the deputy speaker will be decided in this session. According to TMC sources, party chief Mamata Banerjee has advised to make Faizabad (Ayodhya) MP Awadhesh Prasad the candidate for this post. She believes that with this, India Block will not only give a better message to the Dalit community, but will also be successful in confusing the BJP. In fact, the victory of Prasad of the Dalit community was discussed all over the country.
