Canadian Government: The Canadian government has come up with a new rule for international students coming from other countries including India. In which changes have been planned regarding post-secondary study permit. In this, the government plans that if the institutions do not keep proper monitoring of the enrollment of international students, then their study permit will be stopped. According to the rules, the college and university immigration department will have to provide information about the attendance of the students and compliance with the study permit conditions.

According to the Indian Express report, the objective of this initiative is to protect international students from fraud as well as to prevent backdoor entry using study permit for work in Canada. It is worth noting that under this rule, now international students will be able to work outside the college campus only for 24 hours a week. However, till now international students were allowed to work outside the campus for more than 20 hours, so that they can help them in living their life in the rising inflation.

Colleges and universities will report to the immigration department

At the same time, according to the new rules of the Canadian government, colleges and universities will have to report to the immigration department whether a student is going to school or not and whether he is following all the conditions of the study permit or not.

A new application will have to be made upon changing the institute

According to the Government of Canada’s gazette plan, students will have to apply for a new study permit whenever they want to change schools and this should be done before starting a new program. At the same time, the purpose of this change is to ensure that only genuine colleges and universities qualify for the study permit and action is taken against those who do not comply. While, the designated educational institutions will have 10 days to approve the student and 60 days to submit a compliance report on the enrollment status of each student.

These changes will cost approximately $87 million over 10 years

In such a situation, the Canadian government estimates that these changes will cost about $ 87 million over 10 years, which includes the cost of implementation for the government, designated educational institutions and study permit holders. At the same time, those who want to change schools have time till July 29 to make changes.
