The Election Commission on Monday announced the dates for by-elections to 13 assembly seats in seven states, including four seats in West Bengal. The by-elections will be held on vacant seats due to the death or resignation of sitting members.

The assembly seats where by-elections are to be held include Rupauli in Bihar, Raiganj, Ranaghat South, Bagda and Maniktala in West Bengal, Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu, Amarwara in Madhya Pradesh, Badrinath and Mangalore in Uttarakhand, Jalandhar West in Punjab and Dehra, Hamirpur and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh.

The notification for the election will be issued on June 14. The last date for filing nomination papers is June 21. Scrutiny of nominations will be done on June 24 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is June 26. The bypolls will be held on July 10 and the counting of votes will take place on July 13. The Election Commission said the bypolls are to be completed before July 15.
