Voting is going on in four assembly seats in Punjab, Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal (Reserved) and Barnala. The by-elections became necessary after the MLAs representing these areas were elected to the Lok Sabha. Of the four assembly constituencies, Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak and Chabbewal were earlier held by Congress and Barnala seat was represented by AAP MLA. Kedarnath by-election: Direct contest between Congress and BJP
Voting will be held on Wednesday for the by-election on Kedarnath assembly seat in Uttarakhand. Here there is a direct contest between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Congress.
