Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha on 23 July. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described this budget as an important budget of Amritkaal. In the budget, a gift was given to those who got jobs for the first time. Funds were also allocated for education, employment and skills. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also made big announcements for Andhra Pradesh. She said that 15 thousand crores will be arranged in the current financial year and additional funds in the coming years.

While announcing the budget for Andhra Pradesh, Nirmala Sitharaman said, “The government made a coordinated effort to fulfill the commitments of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. Will facilitate financial assistance to Andhra Pradesh through multilateral development agencies. 15 thousand crores in the current financial year and additional funds will be arranged in the coming years. Fully committed to complete the Polavaram irrigation project soon. This will also help our country in food security. Emphasis on infrastructure in Kopparthi area in Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor. Additional allocation for one year for capital investment for economic development. Grants for backward areas of Rayalaseema, Prakasam and North Coast Andhra Pradesh in the Act.”

Sitharaman said that in the interim budget, the government had promised to give a roadmap to developed India. Along with this, she also talked about the nine priorities of the government, which include productivity in agriculture, employment and capacity development, overall human resource development and social justice, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation, research, and development, next generation reforms.
