Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra 2024 Live Updates: The Haryana government has suspended mobile internet and bulk SMS services in Nuh district for 24 hours in view of the possibility of communal tension. The government has taken this decision before the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra.
According to the order of Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Anurag Rastogi, internet service in the district is suspended from 6 pm on Sunday to 6 pm on Monday (24 hours).
According to an official, the decision has been taken to prevent the spread of rumours and misinformation through social media ahead of the planned religious procession. However, SMS related to banking and mobile recharge have been exempted from the suspension. The order states that there is a possibility of tension, agitation, damage to public and private property, disruption of public peace and harmony in the district.
According to the official, the suspension order has been given to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumours through social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, X etc. Nuh Police says that strict security arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the Yatra.
Let us tell you that on July 31 last year, two home guards were killed and 15 others, including several policemen, were injured in a clash between two groups during the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra in Nuh district. During this, there was heavy stone pelting and cars were set on fire. The same night, a mosque in Gurugram was attacked by a mob and its Naib Imam was killed.
