A similar incident happened with a couple in New Zealand, when a girlfriend filed a case against her boyfriend (woman sues partner for not taking her to airport) because he went back on his promise. The man had promised that he would drop his girlfriend to the airport, but he did not come home on time. The girl got so angry that she filed a case against him.
According to a BBC report, a New Zealand court recently heard a strange case. In the legal documents presented in the court, the girl’s name was stated as CL and the boy’s name as HG. Both had children from their previous partners and were in a relationship for 6 and a half years before the case. It so happened that CL was going out of town to watch an event with her friends. She had a flight. She also had two dogs at home. Because of this, CL had already asked HG for help in dropping her to the airport and then staying at her house and taking care of the dogs while she was out. Then HG agreed.

The day before CL had to travel, she messaged her boyfriend and told him that she had a flight in the morning, so he should come and pick her up from home between 10 and 10:15 in the morning and drop her at the airport. But what happened was that HG did not come the next morning! Because of this, the girl had to miss the flight. She took the flight the next day, she had to take a taxi to go to the airport and also had to leave the dogs in the kennel (place to keep dogs). Because of this, she suffered a lot of loss. Angry, CL filed a case against her boyfriend. She demanded in the court that HG should compensate for her loss. Apart from this, in December 2023, both of them had planned that they would go on a holiday to meet CL’s boys. During this time, CL had booked HG’s plane tickets. The girl demanded that the boy return the money for that ticket as well.

When the court heard the whole matter, it dismissed the girl’s case. The court said that the boy had not signed any agreement under which he was bound to drop the girl to the airport. It is common among friends or in close relations that people break their promises. In such a case, the other person may suffer a loss which cannot be compensated. In such a case, no crime can be proved against the boy. He had verbally promised to come, if he could not come, then the girl will have to bear the loss.
