New Delhi. The Indian team has left for Australia tour for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Before leaving for the tour, team coach Gautam Gambhir held a press conference and answered the questions of the media. Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has reached Perth for the first test match against Australia. India has to play its first test match in Perth from 22nd November. The 5-match Test series is considered important for both the teams.
36 year old Kohli is the first player of the Indian team to reach Australia. As soon as he landed at Perth Airport, he quickly left and will soon start practicing for this important series. The Indian team has left for the Border-Gavaskar series in two batches. Indian team’s star batsman Virat Kohli was seen at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Sunday night. Kohli was also accompanied by his wife Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and their children Vamika and Akay Kohli.
According to reports, the Indian team will start its training at the WACA Ground from Tuesday before the Perth Test. However, this place has been kept in lockdown to keep the Indian camp completely closed. The Indian team has left for the Border-Gavaskar series in two batches. The first batch includes players like Shubhman Gill, Akashdeep, Washington Sundar, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammad Siraj, who have left for Australia along with the coaching staff. Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir held a press conference and answered media questions before leaving for Mumbai on 11 November.
According to India Today, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is not traveling with the team. Due to the birth of his second child he can stay in India only. There is still uncertainty regarding Rohit’s play in the first test. Gambhir told that in his absence Jasprit Bumrah will captain the team.
