Bomb threat to Sector-32 Hospital and Chandigarh Airport by E-Mail

There has been a bomb threat to Chandigarh’s Government Medical Research Hospital, Sector-32 Mental Health Institute and the airport. The threat has been made via email.

As soon as the threat was received, the administrative and security officials of the hospital went into a state of panic. On receiving the information, Chandigarh Police, Bomb Squad, Crime Branch and many other investigation teams reached the hospital.

There were about 15 patients and other staff in the institute but after the threat, the entire institute has been evacuated. The patients admitted in the institute are being shifted to the hospital in Sector 48. Many senior police officers including a large number of police force are also present on the spot.

The police officers present on the spot have claimed that the entire institute has been searched but nothing suspicious like a bomb has been found. However, now the bomb squad team has also reached the spot. Investigation is still on to find out from where the threatening email came.

DSP Dalbir Singh said that nothing was found during the search operation. The matter is still being investigated and action is being taken to register a case against whoever sent this email.

Security at Chandigarh airport has been beefed up after receiving bomb threats. Various investigation teams are carrying out search operations there too.

Three line email sent multiple times

According to the police, it is written in the mail that a bomb has been placed in the hospital. Soon there will be an explosion and all of you will be killed. Police says that the mail has been sent repeatedly from 9:45 to 10:15. In the mail, there is a threat to blow up many mental health institutes in Chandigarh as well as Delhi and South India.
