The incident happened in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, where police were called just after 4pm on Sunday.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Sturges Road, near to the seaside town’s railway station.

It is believed a noxious substance may have been thrown during the course of the incident, police say.

Forensics officers in white suits were pictured at the scene, as the investigation continues.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remains in custody, a spokesperson for Sussex Police confirmed.
