BMW Launches Electric Scooter CE 04 in India, Price Rs 14.90 Lakh

BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler unit of luxury car maker BMW, launched its flagship electric scooter CE 04 in India on Wednesday. It will be brought as a completely built unit. Its price is Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the most expensive electric scooter in the country.

Delivery of CE 04 will begin in September. It has a battery pack of 8.5 kW. Its range on a single charge is claimed to be around 130 km. BMW Motorrad A 2.3 kW charger is being given free with this. It can charge this electric scooter from 0-80 percent in about 3.30 hours. There is also an option of BMW Wallbox charger with this. This is the highest power rated electric two-wheeler in the country’s market. The liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet synchronous motor of CE 04 can give a power of 42 bhp and a peak torque of 62 Nm.

This electric scooter The CE 04 has a top speed of 120 kmph and can reach a speed of about 50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds. It has a tubular steel main frame. The CE 04 has Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard. It has a double disc brake up front and a single disc at the rear. It has Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and three riding modes – Eco, Rain and Road. Features like Pro Riding Mode can be added by taking the optional ‘Dynamic Package’. This electric scooter has an attractive design.

It has LED lighting and floating single seat. Its 10.25 inch TFT color screen comes with Bluetooth connectivity. CE 04 is already being sold in the international market. Its price abroad is around $ 11,795. The length of CE 04 is more than two meters and due to this it looks like a maxi-style scooter. Recently, BMW launched the electric car i5 in the country. Its price is around Rs 1.20 crore (ex-showroom). Its top-end M60 xDrive variant has been made available. It has been brought as a completely built unit (CBU) unit. BMW i5 M60 has a battery pack of 83.9 kW.
