BMW Launches Electric i5 in India, Range 516 km

German luxury car maker BMW has launched the electric i5 in the country. Its price is around Rs 1.20 crore (ex-showroom). Its top-end M60 xDrive variant has been made available in the country. Its booking has started. It has been introduced as a Completely Build Unit (CBU).

a media Report According to , the BMW i5 M60 has a battery pack of 83.9 kWh. Its range on a single charge is approximately 516 kilometers. It has a dual electric motor. It has a motor on each axle. Its maximum power is 593 bhp and peak torque is 795 Nm. It can reach 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds. Its top speed is around 230 kmph. An 11 kW wall charger is being provided with it. Apart from this, customers will also have the option to upgrade to 22 kW AC charger. It can be charged from 10-80 percent in just 30 minutes using a 205 kW DC fast charger.

It has slim headlamps with two vertically placed LED DRLs. The design of its taillight is similar to that of the new 7 Series /i7. The electric BMW i5 has a 12.3 inch digital instrument console and 14.9 inch infotainment screen. Both of them run on iDrive 8.5 OS. It has features like panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control and 360 degree camera. Apart from non-metallic Alpine White, it has been made available in metallic colors like Mineral White, Sophiosto Grey, Oxide Grey, Brooklyn Grey, Cape York Green, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire and Carbon Black. Its delivery will be started soon.

The company has offered a standard warranty of two years/unlimited kilometers with it. Its battery has a warranty of eight years or 1,60,000 kilometers. It will compete with Audi’s Q8 e-tron and Mercedes-Benz’s EQE. In the first quarter of this year, BMW’s deliveries increased by 51 percent to 3,680 units. Other than this company Has sold around 1,810 motorcycles. The luxury car market is growing rapidly in the country. However, it is much lower than China and Western countries. BMW said that after record sales last year, this year has started well. There is strong demand for the company’s sports activity vehicles.
