Bijapur Malaria Deaths: There is a political uproar after the death of two girl students from malaria in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Actually, a second and a third class girl student died of malaria in different Pota Cabins operating in the district, after which on one hand the family members have accused the Pota Cabin Superintendent of negligence.

On the other hand, the tribal community has demanded that BJP should give 50 lakh rupees as compensation to the families of the deceased girls. Congressmen have also accused the education department of causing the death of girls due to malaria and demanded action against the negligent superintendent and held the BJP government responsible for this incident.

Tribal society demanded compensation
Tribal society spokesperson Salik Nagvanshi said that on receiving information about the death of the students, District President Jagguram Telami and Vice President Anil Pambhoi discussed with the family and the employees of Pota Cabin, and whatever came out during this clearly shows the negligence of the superintendents. It has also come to light that mosquito nets were not distributed to the students.

Before the new academic session began, works like spraying of anti-mosquito medicine and repair of drains and drainage were not done. Even after a student of Tarlaguda Pota Cabin suffered from malaria fever, it was not taken seriously and the family members were called and the girl was handed over to them for treatment.

Similarly, a student of Sangampalli Potakebin also died of malaria due to negligence. Tribal society spokesperson Salik Nagvanshi said that the lives of tribal students seem to be in danger. Recently, due to political influence, former superintendents have been removed without any reason and new superintendents have been given charge. He said that the culprits should be determined responsible for the death of both the tribal students and strict action should be taken against them and the families of the deceased should be given a compensation of Rs. 50 lakh each.

Political uproar over the death of girl students
Meanwhile, Congress has also blamed the BJP government for this incident. Bijapur MLA Vikram Mandavi said that after the BJP government came to power, the children in the government ashrams and pota cabins are not being taken care of properly in the new academic session. This negligence resulted in the death of two girl students from malaria.

If the girls had received treatment at the right time, they would not have lost their lives, but due to the negligence of the BJP government, the outbreak of malaria is continuously increasing in Bijapur district and people are also falling prey to diarrhea, but the administrative system in the BJP government is proving to be a complete failure.

Countering the statement of Bijapur MLA Vikram Mandavi, BJP state president and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev said that Congress should not do politics on such a serious issue. The way two students died of malaria, the government administration is completely serious about it. The health minister has also issued an alert in Bijapur district. The medical team is continuously treating the sick children and providing all possible help.
