Bihar Women Asian Champions Trophy: Indian women’s hockey team defeated Japan 3-0 in its last group match played at Rajgir Hockey Stadium on Sunday (17 November) and secured a place in the semi-finals of Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Rajgir 2024. In the second half, goals from Navneet Kaur (37′) and Deepika (47′, 48′) gave India a resounding victory. With this victory, India secured first place by winning all its matches in the group stage and will once again face Japan in the semi-finals on 19 November.
In the first half, Japan showed strong defense and did not give the Indian team a chance to score a goal. India started slow and patient, but a penalty corner earned by Deepika in the first quarter was saved by Japanese goalkeeper Yu Kudo. The first half ended goalless.

In the second half, India played aggressively. In the third quarter, Navneet Kaur opened India’s account with a brilliant reverse shot in the 37th minute. In the fourth quarter, Deepika ensured India’s victory by converting two consecutive penalty corners (47′ and 48′). Navneet Kaur gave the lead by scoring a goal through a reverse shot. India’s semi-final match will be with Japan tomorrow i.e. Tuesday (November 19) at 4:45 pm.
