Dalit Army Workers Protest In Patna: Workers of Ram Vilas Paswan’s old wing Dalit Sena took to the streets on Tuesday (23 July) demanding reinstatement of the dependents of Dafadar Chowkidar and to start the process of reinstatement of Dafadar Chowkidar as before. Today, the workers had come out from Kargil Chowk of Gandhi Maidan to gherao the Vidhan Sabha, but the police stopped them at JP Golambar. After creating a ruckus for a long time, the police finally used force and resorted to lathicharge, in which a worker of Dalit Sena got injured.
The workers demand that more than 90% of the people in the recruitment of Dafadar Chowkidar are from Paswan community, but now the process of their recruitment has been made complicated. It should be abolished and recruitment should be done as before. Along with this, the dependents of Dafadar Chowkidar should also be reinstated. People of Paswan community have been raising this demand for a long time. A few days ago, Union Minister Chirag Paswan also met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on this issue and today the workers of Dalit Sena came on the streets.
