The leaders of Lok Janshakti Party (National) are still spitting fire against Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan. By the way, the reason is justified. Chirag Paswan fielded candidates on five seats in Bihar in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and all five won. In order to fight against Chirag, Lok Janshakti Party (National) chief Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned from the Union Cabinet without any delay. When things did not work out, he also announced to stay in the National Democratic Alliance. But, now the time has come for Chirag Paswan. He is a minister at the Center. When uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras was out, he is now out. The dream and claim of going to Rajya Sabha from National Democratic Alliance, both shattered. He was a minister at the Center a few days before the Lok Sabha elections. He was an MP till the day of the election. Now, nothing is left. BJP has given Rajya Sabha ticket of its quota to Upendra Kushwaha.

Paras could not understand the time, he himself lost his shine

Pashupati Kumar Paras shot himself in the foot by insisting on not allowing Chirag Paswan, son of his elder brother late Ram Vilas Paswan, to contest the 2024 elections from the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat. Paras resigned from the post of Union Minister after the announcement of NDA seat sharing, not compromising with Chirag until the seat sharing in the NDA. Actually, he could not understand the timing nor the gesture of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He could not understand that the BJP had once given importance to Pashupati Kumar Paras instead of Chirag Paswan so that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would not feel bad. In the 2020 assembly elections, Chirag played a major role in getting Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United to the third position in the assembly, due to which it was difficult for Chirag to remain in the NDA. Becoming a minister was impossible. In such a situation, the place vacated by the death of Ram Vilas Paswan was given to his brother Pashupati Paras. After becoming a minister in Modi 2.0, Paras always felt that he was more important to the BJP than Chirag Paswan. This illusion ruined him.

When approaching the Mahagathbandhan proved futile, he returned empty handed

He remained firm on his insistence to contest from Hajipur Lok Sabha seat and BJP confirmed his nephew Chirag Paswan for this seat. Pashupati Paras could not understand this even then. He remained firm on his insistence. Paras resigned from the Union Cabinet without thinking twice after being sidelined in the seat sharing of NDA. After that, he came to Bihar and waited for the Mahagathbandhan’s offer for seats in the Lok Sabha elections, but did not get any response. After losing, Paras expressed faith in NDA again. He held several press conferences one after the other. He shared old photographs. He also attended the election rallies of NDA. In April, amid the heat of the Lok Sabha elections, he said that BJP has assured him of Rajya Sabha. But on Tuesday, both that assurance and claim went in vain. NDA gave Rajya Sabha ticket to former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, who lost Karakat Lok Sabha seat due to vote splitting by Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh.

Career is over or some options are left

Pashupati Kumar Paras was close to his elder brother Ram Vilas Paswan. Paras is now upset due to the rift with his son. If he remains in the NDA now, he can hope for himself in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. On the other hand, there is an option to go to the Grand Alliance, but doing so will probably be useless because he came to Bihar relying on Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav to break ties with the NDA in the Lok Sabha elections. Lalu-Tejashwi did not consider him with them in the seat sharing of the Grand Alliance, after which Paras, being left with no option, expressed faith in the NDA again. Sunil Kumar Sinha, President of Chanakya Institute of Political Rights and Research, says – “Due to one mistake or stubbornness of Paras, the career of all the MPs who were with him, including his nephew Prince, got spoiled. In such a situation, it is not surprising if Paras now gets a setback from his own people as well. It is possible that seeing all this, Paras remains in the NDA and prepares for the Bihar Assembly elections.”
