Half a dozen people died in a tragic road accident in Kishanganj. The incident took place in the district’s Pauchhali police station area, where a speeding Scorpio and a dumper collided near Petbhari Chowk on National Highway 327 E. The Scorpio was completely destroyed in the accident. According to local people, four women, an innocent child and the Scorpio driver died in the accident. Local people said that five people died on the spot, while an innocent child died during treatment at Kishanganj MGM Medical College. Five innocent children are badly injured, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The accident happened while going towards Siliguri
Police say that the deceased were residents of Jokihat in Araria district, who were going towards Siliguri. After the accident, a huge crowd of villagers gathered at the spot and the driver trapped in the Scorpio was somehow pulled out. Regarding the incident, Nagar Panchayat President representative Ahmed Hussain said that all the deceased belonged to the same family and the innocent children have lost their family members. After the incident, SDPO Manglesh Kumar Singh and other officials have reached the spot and further action is being taken by the police.
