Bihar News: Bihar Police investigation after one shot dead in madhepura bihar lok sabha, injured in firing

On Wednesday night, three miscreants riding a bike opened indiscriminate fire in Goalpara market of Madhepura. Three people were injured in this firing incident. One of these persons died while being taken to Jannayak Karpuri Thakur Medical College Hospital for treatment. The incident happened on Wednesday night at around 9.45 pm. The deceased has been identified as Siyaram Gupta (75), resident of Goalpara. Voting for the Lok Sabha elections was held in Madhepura on May 7 and this incident took place after the withdrawal of security forces the next day. The elections were generally peaceful, but it is believed that this incident has some connection with the elections. Whether it is anger over voting or arbitrary firing, the police are not in a position to say anything right now.

Ashok Kumar Sah, owner of Janta Medical shop and present there at the time of the incident, said that on Wednesday night at around quarter to 9, three miscreants riding a bike reached near his shop from Bihariganj side and started firing indiscriminately. The miscreants fired about 10 rounds. He somehow saved his life by hiding in the counter of the shop below. When his shop staff Rohit tried to run away in fear, the miscreants shot him in the head. He was seriously injured. After this, the miscreants moved ahead and shot Siyaram Gupta below the shoulder and above the chest, who was strolling after having food in front of the house. Then after moving some distance, Bhuja shopkeeper Rampravesh Thakur was shot in the right arm. The indiscriminate firing created an atmosphere of chaos in the market.

A serious youth was referred to Patna.

The injured include Rampravesh Thakur (26) and Rohit Mukhiya (28), residents of Goalpara Ward 6. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. All the injured were admitted to Goalpara PHC, where after first aid, all were referred to Jannayak Karpuri Thakur Medical College Hospital. Siyaram Gupta died before reaching the medical college. Rampravesh Thakur is said to be out of danger. Seeing the serious condition of Rohit Mukhiya, the doctors referred him to Patna. Udakishunganj SDPO Avinash Kumar said that information about the incident has been received. Police are scanning the CCTV installed around the incident site.
