New Delhi. The Pakistan Cricket Board got a big news on Monday. A big decision was taken regarding the upcoming Champions Trophy at the annual meeting of the International Cricket Council in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The ICC passed the budget on the last day of the meeting for the Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan next year. This information has come to light from a Pakistani news channel.
The ICC Champions Trophy is to be held in Pakistan in February next year. No decision has been taken yet as to whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan or not. The Indian team does not go to Pakistan to play due to the bad political relations between the two countries. Earlier also Pakistan had created a ruckus regarding the Asia Cup but the BCCI clearly refused to send the team there. Finally, under the hybrid model, all the matches of Team India were held in Sri Lanka.
Champions Trophy budget passed
Pakistan Cricket Board is going to host the Champions Trophy. In the ICC meeting held regarding this, the Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah and Pakistan Cricket Board President Mohsin Naqvi along with the presidents of other cricket boards also attended. According to Geo News report, ICC Finance Officer Ankur Khanna and PCB Finance Officer Javed Murtaza have prepared the budget for the Champions Trophy, which was also passed by the ICC.
Pakistan is fully prepared
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is to be organized in 8 stadiums of Pakistan. Stadiums of Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore are to host the matches. According to the proposed schedule given by PCB to ICC, all the matches of the Indian team will be played in Lahore. This decision has been taken by PCB due to security reasons. It is being told that Pakistan Cricket Board has allocated 12.80 billion to modernize 3 stadiums for organizing this tournament.
