Consumer Affairs Minister Ramvilas Paswan says that the government will open hallmarking centers in every block of the country in the next few years. Due to this, jewelers will now have to register with BIS. Along with this, anyone who wants to open a hallmarking center can apply by visiting www.manakonline.in. This can provide employment to lakhs of people in the country.

Registration for Hallmark Center-Any person who wants to open a hallmarking centre will have to apply by visiting www.manakonline.in. Jewellers can also apply online for recognition and renewal of recognition of hallmarking centres.

Along with this, every jeweler of the country will also have to get registered. Jewelers will now have to get registered with BIS. Through this, an online system of registration and renewal of registration of jewelers was started.

Recently, Paswan had launched a new module for online registration of jewellers and purity testing cum hallmarking centres. Through this, an online system for registration of jewellers and renewal of registration was started. Along with this, an online system was also launched for recognition and renewal of recognition of assaying and hallmarking centres of gold jewellery. Now jewellers can get themselves registered online.

It will be easy to resolve complaints of irregularities quickly
This will make it possible for the hallmarking centres to monitor the processing of application forms on a real-time basis. The online system will facilitate prompt resolution of complaints of irregularities in hallmarking of jewellery. BIS is also working on a module for automating the workflow of assaying and hallmarking centres, which is expected to be ready by December 20.

While reviewing the work of BIS, Paswan said that the need to increase the number of hallmarking has been felt. Therefore, he approved additional manpower in branch offices. He hoped that with the launch of these two online systems, jewelers and entrepreneurs will also be able to join the efforts of the government to provide gold jewellery of certified quality and purity to consumers.
