New Delhi. Amazon India has said that now sellers on its platform will have the facility to register in Hindi and manage their online business in Hindi. Amazon has said in a statement that the company’s aim in doing so is to provide the benefits of e-commerce platform to millions of small, micro and medium businessmen, small shopkeepers and retail traders of India by freeing them from the language barrier.
The company says that for the first time, sellers will get the opportunity to use Hindi to enter, know and understand their orders, inventory management and performance metrics and the experience related to this can be seen on the sellers’ website and mobile app. Apart from this, Amazon is also providing seller support service, seller university videos and tutorials in Hindi.
Shopkeepers from these cities chose Hindi- Gopal Pillai, who is working as Vice President in Amazon India, has said that the company always works with the principle that every seller should get access to maximum number of customers in the country and the world.
Providing the facility of registration and bookkeeping in Hindi is a step taken in this direction. The company is working on promoting local languages in expanding the business
According to the company, 100 Amazon sellers from tier 1, 2 and 3 cities of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh have adopted Hindi to manage their accounts during the six-month testing phase
.Amazon sellers who want to change their preferred language can do so in a few easy steps on both the Amazon Seller website and the Seller mobile app.
This can be changed on the seller’s mobile app and seller website from the settings menu on every page, from the language drop-down option on the top right. Once the language is changed, sellers can view all pages and activities in Hindi.
