UP News: Aligarh Police has got great success against drug smuggling. 20 kg of ganja has been recovered from three smugglers. The accused have been identified as Daju, Sadiq and Arif.
Area Officer III Mayank Pathak said that the young police took action on August 31. The police have arrested all three accused and sent them to jail. Mayank Pathak told that the police is running a campaign to prevent drug abuse.
The accused had come to Aligarh during the festive season to supply ganja. The police was busy searching for smugglers supplying ganja. Information was received from the informer that three smugglers were coming to supply ganja. The police surrounded and interrogated three suspects. Upon search, 20 kg of ganja was recovered. During interrogation, he revealed that there is huge demand for ganja in view of festivals. The police arrested all three under the NDPS Act and sent them to jail.

Aligarh Police has exposed smuggling of ganja, opium and other narcotics in recent times. Area officer Mayank Pathak said that people involved in drug trade will not be spared. He said that the police operation will create fear among smugglers. The worst effect of drug addiction is on the youth.
Drug addiction pushes youth towards crime. Crime is prevalent in the society. Mayank Pathak said that the purpose of the police campaign is to free the society from drugs and give the right direction to the youth. The police campaign against drugs will continue in future also. Officials believe that the arrest will help in curbing drug trafficking.
