Bhajan Lal Government Budget 2024: The first general budget of the Bhajan Lal government of Rajasthan has been announced. With the announcement of this budget, BJP is calling it the budget of developed Rajasthan. At the same time, the opposition is taking a dig at the announcement of this budget. With the announcement of the general budget, people doing business in the car market in the entire state including Jodhpur have started opposing it.

Jodhpur Car Market Union said that in Rajasthan, there has been an unexpected increase in tax especially on the transfer and re-registration of old cars. Rajasthan already had the highest transfer tax (on old cars) compared to other states. They say that tax has been increased especially on buying and selling old vehicles. Due to which traders who buy and sell old cars will have to suffer huge losses.

Due to this, customers are turning away
They say that the government has increased the tax on old cars in this budget. Due to this, the prices of cars have also increased. Due to such increased prices, customers are also turning away from their business. They have to bear the brunt of it. The government should consider their demands and reduce the tax. Otherwise, the people of the car dealer association from all over the state will protest fiercely in Jaipur.

Due to this the deal is getting cancelled
Narayan Prajapat, President of Jodhpur Car Market Association, said that the Rajasthan government has recently presented its full budget. In this budget, the tax on the purchase and sale of old cars and old cars brought from other states has been increased. Due to this, the deals are being cancelled due to the high cost involved in getting the vehicles transferred to RTO. The customer is refusing to buy the car at the increased price. Whereas how will the businessman pay the increased tax from his pocket.

Increase in transfer rates
Kailash Panwar of the association said that earlier there was a discount of up to 80 percent on old cars brought from other states, currently it has been reduced to 25 percent. The difference this will make is that if a person is buying a car from any other state other than Rajasthan, then earlier the tax for transfer of name of the car was up to Rs 25000. Currently it has increased to 80 thousand to one lakh. Apart from this, tax has also been increased on old vehicles with Rajasthan number. Earlier there was a tax of up to 12.30 percent on these vehicles which has been increased to 25%. Tax is calculated according to the tax of the new vehicle.

A double whammy is being dealt to business
Babu Bhai of Car Bazaar told that the government is now pressurizing the car dealers. Earlier, the government had asked them to get a trade certificate to do business. Apart from this, they were also asked about GST. Which was done. Now, by increasing the tax, their business is being hit doubly, which will not be tolerated anymore.

1. The discount on vehicles coming from other states has been reduced from 80 percent to 25 percent, which is almost three times more.

2. Transfer tax on old vehicles is only Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 in other states. In Rajasthan, it has been made a one-time tax of 25%. Which is the highest compared to other states. The old car dealer works for the government’s reuse policy. Also, we would like to clarify that on selling one old car, four government organizations and 7 people get direct employment.
