CBI took major action on Thursday in the alleged teacher recruitment scam case in West Bengal. The agency raided the residences of several TMC leaders, including a Trinamool Congress MLA and two councilors.
The CBI raided the residences of Murshidabad’s Domkal MLA Zafikul Islam, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) councilor Bappaditya Dasgupta and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation councilor Debraj Chakraborty, officials said. Officers said that this raid was conducted as part of the investigation into the teacher recruitment scam. Those whose houses and offices were raided are being interrogated.
The official said that raids are underway at various places in and around Kolkata, Murshidabad and Cooch Behar districts in connection with the investigation.
