Bastar News:The security personnel who defeated the armed hardcore Naxalites in the most difficult conditions in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, are battling the malaria outbreak these days. In fact, the soldiers posted in remote camps on the Naxal fronts in Bastar are coming to the hospital for treatment after getting affected by malaria during the monsoon season. The number of soldiers suffering from malaria is continuously increasing in the Bastar division. Apart from this, CRPF and police officers are also getting affected by malaria.

17 STF jawans test positive for malaria

The outbreak of malaria is increasing rapidly in Bastar. The soldiers fighting the Naxalites in the sensitive areas of Bastar division are getting infected with malaria and the graph of malaria positive cases is increasing rapidly among the soldiers. Apart from the soldiers, police officers are also getting affected by malaria.

17 jawans of the STF camp present in Bastar district have been found malaria positive, who are being treated in the government hospital of Bastar, however, the condition of all the jawans is said to be out of danger, according to the information received from Bastar SP Salbh Sinha, all these STF jawans had gone to Abujhmad area of ​​Narayanpur district for Naxal operation.

Where the soldiers started falling ill due to mosquito bites and after returning to the headquarters, in the medical examination, about 20 soldiers were found malaria positive, although 3 of them have been discharged while the treatment of other soldiers is going on. Apart from this, some soldiers who returned from Naxal operation in Sukma, Dantewada, Bijapur, Narayanpur and Kanker have also tested malaria positive and their treatment is also going on.

Instructions to soldiers to be vigilant during anti-naxal operation

Bastar IG Sundarraj P said that during the monsoon season, soldiers have to be very cautious in the Naxal-affected areas and dense forests of Bastar, however, compared to previous years, soldiers are being very cautious to prevent malaria. Despite this, during the operation, the soldiers have to face many adverse conditions and in such a situation, soldiers are falling ill due to mosquito bites and are testing positive for malaria.

However, after returning from Naxal operation, medical checkup of these soldiers is done and those who test positive for malaria are kept under the supervision of doctors and given better treatment. IG said that soldiers are constantly being instructed to be cautious during the operation, while strict instructions have been given to keep necessary medicines and essential things like Odomos with them to protect themselves from mosquitoes.
