Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha Election 2024: The first phase of voting has been completed for Bastar Lok Sabha seat of Chhattisgarh. Before voting, the candidates campaigned vigorously. The figures of the amount spent on election campaign have come out.

Congress and BJP candidates spent the most on election campaign. According to the documents submitted to the Election Commission, the BJP candidate spent Rs 65 lakh on campaigning. The Congress candidate at second position has shown a limit of expenditure of Rs 55 lakh.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, a candidate was allowed to spend up to Rs 70 lakh and in the Assembly elections, a candidate was allowed to spend up to Rs 28 lakh. Information about the expenditure of star campaigners who came to campaign on Bastar Lok Sabha seat has also come to the fore. BJP’s PM Modi and Congress’s Rahul Gandhi also held meetings. The candidate had shared the stage with him, hence all the expenses were credited to his account.

According to the information received from the affidavit, Rs 31 lakh 13 thousand were spent on PM Modi’s meeting in small Amabal village of Narayanpur. At the same time, the total expenditure of Rahul Gandhi’s meeting in Bastar was Rs 14 lakh 51 thousand. The total expenditure of BJP’s star campaigner and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s meeting in Dantewada was Rs 4 lakh 40 thousand. A total of Rs 2 lakh 99 thousand was spent on the meeting of Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar in Dantewada itself.
