Bangladesh violence Erupt after ISKCON priest Chinmay Prabhu arrested attack on Hindus

Bangladesh Violence: ISKCON Pundarik Dham President Chinmoy Krishnan Das was arrested on Monday (25 November) in Chittagong, India’s neighboring country Bangladesh. Since then the situation has been worsening. People of Hindu community have come out on the streets against the arrest. Meanwhile, BNP and Jamaat workers attacked Hindus. About 50 people were injured in this attack. Late last night, thousands of Hindus took out a huge torch rally in Maulvi Bazaar, chanting Jai Siya Ram and Har Har Mahadev.

Chittagong University professor Kushal Baran was also attacked during a meeting in Shahbag. Many injured protesters have been admitted to the hospital. The surprising thing is that the administration and police did not take any action during these violent incidents. The police and administration remained mute spectators during the Shahbag attack. The pictures surfaced on social media highlight the seriousness of these attacks.

Bengal BJP President gave sharp reaction
West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar condemned these incidents and called Chinmay Prabhu’s arrest unjust. He appealed to Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to take this issue seriously and take immediate steps. Sukant Majumdar wrote on X (earlier Twitter) that Chinmay Prabhu was continuously fighting for the rights of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh government is being strongly criticized for his arrest.

Reasons for arrest and police clarification
Bangladesh Police arrested Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari from Dhaka Airport on Monday. According to Police Detective Branch spokesperson Rezaul Karim, the arrest has been made as per legal procedure. Chinmoy Das was handed over to the concerned police station for further action. These incidents have raised serious questions on the security of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. The violent attitude of fundamentalist groups and inaction of the administration has attracted the attention of the international community.

Appeal to international organizations
International organizations including India are being appealed to take steps for the rights and security of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Condemning these attacks and arrests, an immediate solution is being demanded.
