New Delhi. Bangladesh Cricket Board announced its team for the Test series against India on Thursday. Nazmul Hussain Shanto has been given the command of the 16-member team. Under Shanto’s captaincy, Bangladesh recently won the 2-match Test series in Pakistan by 2-0. Experienced fast bowler Shoriful Islam will not come on the India tour. While Zakir Ali has been included in the Test team for the first time. The first match of the 2-match Test series between India and Bangladesh will be played in Chennai from September 19.
Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who was out of the team in the series against Pakistan, has returned to the series against India. Hasan was out of the team for the Test series against Pakistan due to a back injury. It took him two weeks to recover from it. Pacer Shoriful Islam will not play in the series against India due to a back problem. He took part in the first Test played against Pakistan in Rawalpindi where he sent three batsmen including captain Babar Azam to the pavilion with his brilliant bowling.
Khalid Ahmed replaces Shoriful Islam in Test squad
Shoriful Islam could not play in the second Test against Pakistan due to a back injury. In place of Shoriful, bowler Khalid Ahmed has got a chance in the Test series against India. Khalid could not play in the series against Pakistan. 26-year-old wicketkeeper Zakir Ali has been included in the Test team for the first time.
