Sacrificed on Bakrid: This time 12 lakh animals were sacrificed on the occasion of Bakrid in Pakistan. Pakistan Tanners Association disclosed this matter in a statement on Wednesday. The association said that animals worth 500 billion Pakistani rupees were slaughtered on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha. Aga Syedain, a member of the central executive committee of the association, said that this time on the occasion of Bakrid, 2 lakh 90 thousand cows, 3 lakh 30 thousand goats, 3 lakh 85 thousand sheep and 98 thousand camels were slaughtered. Apart from this, 1 lakh 65 thousand buffaloes were also sacrificed.
The cost of animals slaughtered in Pakistan on the day of Bakrid is said to be more than 500 billion. The cost of the skin alone is said to be 85 billion. The association has expressed concern about the loss of 40 percent of the skins due to the scorching heat. According to estimates, Pakistan’s leather industry meets 20 percent of its annual needs from the skins of animals slaughtered on the day of Bakrid. This year, it is believed that Pakistan’s leather industry will be able to supply more than 20 percent.
Action taken against Ahmadiya community for offering sacrifice
36 people from the Ahmadiya community have been arrested in Pakistan for sacrificing animals on the day of Eid al-Adha. A community leader gave this information on Tuesday. The Ahmadiya community has been declared non-Muslim in Pakistan. Despite this, action has been taken for sacrificing animals. Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya official Aamir Mahmood told PTI-Bhasha that at least 36 people from the Ahmadiya community have been arrested, most of them are from Punjab province.
Appeal for safe disposal
In Pakistan, the risk of birds colliding with planes has increased after a large number of animals were slaughtered on the occasion of Bakrid. In such a situation, the government of Pakistan has appealed to the people to dispose of the waste material safely after slaughtering the animals.
