Bahraich Flood 194 people trapped due in Ghaghra river rescue team saved lives ann

Bahraich News: The administration is on alert mode regarding floods in UP. People suddenly got stuck in the middle of the river in Bahraich, a rescue operation went on throughout the night to save them in which 194 lives were saved. On Friday evening, 194 people working in the fields were stuck in Bahraich due to the water suddenly released from Nepal, as soon as the administration got information about the incident, it started a rescue operation at night and after 12 hours of hard work, everyone was taken to a safe place.

The rescue team rescued 63 people trapped in the flood safely at night, while the rescue operation continued till 9 am to save 131 people. Apart from men, a large number of women and children were also among those rescued. After conducting health check-up of the people trapped in the flood, all were safely taken to their homes. During this time, the administration also distributed relief material to everyone.

Giving information on this incident, Relief Commissioner GS Naveen said that the State Emergency Center received information about hundreds of people being stranded in flood waters in Bahraich at 6:30 pm on Friday. On this, the Divisional Commissioner Devipatan and the District Magistrate of Bahraich were informed, on which the Divisional Commissioner and the District Magistrate reached the spot in a hurry.

People trapped due to sudden rise in water level of river
When the officials reached the spot, it was found that more than a hundred villagers of village Chahalwa Pargana Dharmapur Tehsil Mihipurwa had gone to work in their fields on the other side of river Ghaghra. During this time the water level of Ghaghra was low. In the evening, the water level of Ghaghra increased due to sudden release of water from Nepal. Due to this, the villagers got stuck in their fields.

When the rescue team reached the spot, it was found that about 194 villagers were trapped in the flood water, most of whom were women. SSB, NDRF, SDRF and PAC teams started the rescue operation to save the people. The team was able to save 63 people at night by conducting the rescue operation, and the remaining 131 people were taken to a safe place by 9 am after about 12 hours of effort.

According to the DM, due to the strong flow of water and darkness, the operation was stopped for some time late at night so that there is no loss of life. After this, the rescue operation was started again. After evacuating the people, everyone was given a medical checkup and then food and water was arranged for them. After this, everyone was taken to their village. During this, relief material was distributed to the victims trapped in the disaster. Along with this, people of the villages located around the Ghaghra river are being appealed not to go near the river. Regarding this, the rescue team is constantly alerting the villages.
