Azamgarh Murder Case: Shambhu Ram, 55, a resident of village Sohauli Jagdishpur in Bardah police station area of Azamgarh, had come to his home in Sohauli from Delhi a month ago. He used to work as a driver in Delhi. Shambhu died under suspicious circumstances on Friday night. While the family said that he died after falling from the stairs, the neighbors are saying that his wife and son murdered him. At present, the police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
People say that around 9 o’clock on Friday night, there was a lot of noise in Shambhu’s house and someone was shouting. The shutter was locked from inside. We tried a lot but no one could go inside and the sound of someone hitting someone was heard.
Neighbors made serious allegations
The family members said that Shambhu came home after drinking alcohol and fell from the stairs and got injured. We took him to the primary health center Martinganj, but the doctor there declared him dead, but the people in the neighborhood and the relatives say that their son, his wife and family members together murdered Shambhu.
Villagers surrounded the police station
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem. On Saturday morning, people of Sohauli Jagdishpur village reached Bardha police station and gheraoed it. The villagers alleged that Shambhu was killed by his family members.
cause of death not clear
Additional Superintendent of Police Nagar Shailendra Lal said that the body of the deceased was found in his house. The cause of death is not clear. The body has been sent for postmortem to know the cause. As soon as the postmortem report is received, only then the clear cause will be known. After that, legal action will be taken as per the rules. Some people had come to surround the police station and were accusing the wife and children.
