Australian cricketer drank heavily, had to call an ambulance, now the board is investigating

It is alleged that all-rounder Glenn Maxwell drank so much alcohol at an event that he had to be admitted to the hospital. Now Cricket Australia (CA) is investigating the entire matter. Maxwell has also not been included in the Australian team announced on Monday for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies. It has been said that he has been given ‘rest’.

According to Australian newspaper ‘Daily Telegraph’ Glen Maxwellhad reached Adelaide to watch the show of fellow cricketer Brett Lee’s rock band ‘Six and Out’. After this they partied heavily in the pub. Due to this his health deteriorated. After this an ambulance was called and Maxwell was admitted to the hospital. However, he was soon discharged from the hospital.

Glenn Maxwell again came into limelight on Monday when he did not get a place in Australia’s ODI team. Australia has to play a series of 3 ODI matches against West Indies from 2 February. Steve Smith will captain Australia in this series. Fraser Magark has been included in this team. Fazer Magark has been given a chance in the team in place of Glenn Maxwell. It has been told that Maxwell has been given rest under workload management.

Cricket Australia is keeping an eye on this entire incident. CA issued a statement saying, ‘The board is gathering information about what happened to Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide over the weekend. But this is not the reason for keeping him out of the ODI team. Maxwell will return to the team in the T20 series.
