Australian all-rounder’s interview after the World Cup, big talk on captain Cummins, never seen the way he played

New Delhi. The Australian team, which won the trophy by defeating the Indian cricket team in the ICC ODI World Cup final, has reached its country. Experienced fast bowler Pat Cummins, who captains the team, is being praised a lot. After losing two consecutive matches, Australia came back and won all the matches and also won the trophy.

Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne said that he had never seen anyone bowling the way Pat Cummins bowled during the World Cup final against India. Australia won its record sixth title by winning by six wickets in the final. Cummins took two wickets in 10 overs in which his economy rate was the best. He took the wickets of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer due to which the Indian team was reduced to 240 runs. “I think that day was definitely Pat’s best day with the ball,” Labuschagne told Sen Radio.

He said, “I have never seen anyone bowling like Cummins did, he bowled the right ball at the right time. I have never seen this from a middle overs bowler, especially a fast bowler. So a lot of credit goes to him.

Labuschagne had scored an unbeaten half-century in the final. He also praised coach Andrew McDonald’s strategy making and said that the team analyst put India under pressure by planning. Labuschagne said, “Strategically, Andrew MacDonald and our analyst first got the toss decision correct and then by doing well in different conditions, we took early wickets of the Indian players and then put pressure on their bowlers.”

He said, “Our plan was to take five wickets in 30 overs and the Australian bowlers did just that. The bowlers performed brilliantly with Pat leading the way. Labuschagne also said that the coach had full confidence in the players, which created a good atmosphere in the dressing room. He said, “His coaching record speaks for itself. He never doubted us, I think that created a good environment. He and Pat work well together.
