Arvind Kejriwal News Court rejects AAP Chief and Delhi CM plea seeking two additional meetings with lawyers

Arvind Kejriwal News In Hindi: A Delhi court on Monday rejected the plea of jailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking direction to jail authorities to allow him two additional meetings with his lawyers through video conference. Special Judge Kaveri Baveja said that according to the plea, Arvind Kejriwal is facing about 30 cases across the country and on the basis of the right to a fair trial, he needs two additional meetings with his lawyers through video conference to discuss the cases.

The court said, “A similar application of the petitioner (Arvind Kejriwal) requesting additional meetings with his lawyers was rejected by this court on April 10, 2024 with a detailed order.” The court said that no new reason has been given in the present application to take a different view from the earlier order.

What did the court say about CM Kejriwal’s lawyer?

The court said, “The counsel for the petitioner has failed to explain to the court how he is entitled to two additional meetings through video conference on the same grounds which were discussed and settled in the earlier order.” The court said that during the hearing, Arvind Kejriwal’s counsel was asked to withdraw the petition and file a fresh petition with some new grounds, which the counsel refused.

Dismissing the petition, the judge said, “Thus, after considering the reasons stated and the earlier observations made under the order dated April 10, 2024, I do not see any reason to accept the application.”
