Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will have to surrender on June 2. Before that, he has filed a bail petition in the Rouse Avenue Court. The petition of Aam Aadmi Party’s National President Arvind Kejriwal will be heard at 2 pm.

Earlier, the Supreme Court registry refused to give an urgent list to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s petition seeking extension of interim bail in the money laundering case related to the excise policy scam. The registry said, since the bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta has granted Kejriwal interim bail as well as the liberty to approach the trial court for regular bail, this petition is not admissible.

It was also submitted on behalf of the Registry that since the decision on his plea against arrest has already been reserved, his instant application has no bearing on the matter before the Court.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam case. He was granted interim bail on May 10 till June 1 to campaign for the party in the Lok Sabha elections. He is scheduled to surrender at Tihar Jail on June 2.
