Sarpanchs Samagam in Ludhiana: Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal attended the oath ceremony of newly elected sarpanches in Ludhiana, Punjab. In the Sarpanch Samagam, Arvind Kejriwal said that you have come as the Sarpanch, now you have to fulfill the responsibility. The government has no shortage of money. The Sarpanch has so much power that if he wishes, he can change the face of the village in 5 years.
AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal further said, “It is easier to become an MLA. It is not easy to become a leader. You should not let the trust of the villagers be broken. To work honestly. You will not do anyone a favor by working honestly. If you are dishonest, the public will kick you. The one above is also watching. The money sent by the Punjab government has to be used in the service of the public. Decisions have to be taken in the midst of the village and in front of everyone.
I want to tell from my experience that it is easier to become an MLA whereas it is very difficult to become a Sarpanch, so you have done a bigger job than being an MLA.
Now you all have to do good work and fulfill the responsibility given to you by your villagers.

Gram Sabha should be held twice – Arvind Kejriwal
He further said, “You have done a bigger job than that of an MLA. You have to do good work ahead. According to the law of Punjab, Gram Sabha should be held twice, that too is done on paper. Getting all things passed in the Gram Sabha. God has given you a chance to work in the village. The government will send you money, you should not steal it. Many times we have seen in Delhi that the lower officers get the same work done many times so that there is unnecessary expenditure.

Let us tell you that the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected village heads was organized on Friday (8 November) in Ludhiana, Punjab. The ceremony was presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, which was also attended by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Panchayat elections were held last month, in which 13,147 sarpanches were elected.
