Apple Watch will support automatic sleep tracking watchOS 11 offers Shazam widget for Smart Stack

Apple on Monday announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference WWDC 2024 that the company’s watchOS 11 update for Apple Watch is set to bring new features to improve user experience. Recently, a user has now spotted a feature that Apple did not show at WWDC, which will come to Apple Watch when the update arrives later this year. Apart from this, a Shazam widget has also been found in the Smart Stack app, which helps users to quickly find the currently playing songs.

Currently, Apple’s smartwatch does not monitor sleep unless Sleep Focus mode is turned on. Weinbach says that with watchOS 11, Apple Watch will automatically track users’ sleep cycles regardless of the device mode. Apple With the watch, users can track their sleep cycles and set schedules to meet their targets. Apart from this, it is also claimed that it provides the time spent by the users in each phase of sleep REM sleep, core sleep and deep sleep.

Apple is also bringing a new Shazam widget to the Smart Stack, which is a set of widgets available to users based on time, location, and activity that can be accessed from any watch face. However, Shazam was already available on the App Store or could be accessed through Siri. watchOS 11 brings it to the Smart Stack, allowing users to search for the currently playing music even faster. Apple says that apart from Shazam, it is also introducing other widgets in the Smart Stack, including Translate, Distance, Photos, Weather Alert, and Live Activities.

Where will watchOS 11 work

According to Apple, watchOS 11 will be available to users on Apple Watch Series 6 or later, paired with an iPhone XR or later model running on iOS 18. The watchOS 11 developer beta has already been rolled out and can be accessed through the Apple Developer Program.
