The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the minor girl who was gang-raped in Nandyal district. Apart from this, the government has also given financial assistance of Rs five lakh in the case of molestation of Najwat by a relative in Vijayanagaram district. This case of molestation of a six-month-old newborn has been considered as rape as per the Indian Penal Code (BSN) rules.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V Anitha on Monday informed about the financial assistance sanctioned by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. She said that on July 7, three boys allegedly gang-raped a nine-year-old girl and then pushed her into the Muchumari lift irrigation canal in Muchumari village. She was last seen playing in a park in the village. The home minister said the girl’s body has not been found yet as the boys are changing their statement every day about her whereabouts. Police and NDRF personnel are searching for the body.

Home Minister V Anitha said CM Naidu has sanctioned an amount of Rs 5 lakh for a newborn girl who was allegedly raped by a male relative in Vizianagaram district recently. This amount will be deposited as a fixed deposit in favour of the newborn.

According to the police, 40-year-old Dora allegedly molested the newborn in Ramabhadrapuram village of Vizianagaram district last Saturday. They said that when the incident happened, the mother of the newborn had gone out to buy vegetables. Meanwhile, Dora entered the house and molested the girl. They said that according to the new BNS rules, the crime is being treated as rape. Dora was arrested under BNS section 65 (2) and section 5 (m) read with 6 of the POCSO Act. However, Dora tried to express ignorance by saying that he was drunk.
