Amethi News Today: Police’s ‘Operation Langra’ is continuing in Amethi. In the last 24 hours, the police conducted another encounter and arrested two cowherds. In the encounter, a cow was shot in the leg and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Police have also recovered a huge quantity of cow slaughter equipment, pistol, live cartridges and a motorcycle from the arrested accused. Many cases are registered against both the arrested cowherds in the police stations of Amethi and surrounding districts.
The accused were hiding in the ruins
This entire matter pertains to the ruins near the under-construction degree college located at Kathora in Kamrauli police station area. Police had received information late in the night that some cow vigilantes were planning to kill stray animals by catching them. As soon as the information was received, Kamrauli police reached the spot and surrounded the ruins.
Seeing the police, the accused started firing, after which the police also retaliated. In this action, an accused was shot in the leg, who has been identified as Arshad alias Sonu. The police chased and caught the second accused Haseeb alias Laden.
Many cases are registered against the accused
The injured accused has been admitted to Jagdishpur CHC for treatment, where he is undergoing treatment. The police have recovered a pistol, live cartridge, a shell, wooden stick, chapad, scales and water from the spot.
Apart from this, the police have recovered many other instruments including cow slaughter equipment from the accused. Apart from this, a Pulsar motorcycle has also been seized. Both the arrested accused have more than 17 serious criminal cases registered against them in the police stations of Amethi and neighboring districts.
What did the police say?
Musafirkhana CO Atul Singh said that the police had received information late in the night that some cows had gathered near the ruins and these people were planning to slaughter the cows. As soon as information about this was received, the police team reached the spot and laid siege.
CO Atul Singh said that after seeing the police, the cowherds started firing. A cow has been injured in police retaliation and has been admitted to the hospital. At present both the cowherds have been arrested and further legal action is being taken.
