There is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees of Lord Shiva coming from all over the country for Amarnath Yatra. Thousands of devotees are leaving for the holy cave every day from the traditional Baltal and Pahalgam route. On the fourth day, Tuesday, 22715 devotees attended Baba’s court. Meanwhile, the fifth batch of 6537 devotees left for Kashmir from the base camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. In this, 2016 devotees went to Baltal and 4431 devotees went to Pahalgam.

The fifth batch of pilgrims from base camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, which travelled via Baltal route, included 1568 men, 422 women, 14 children, 91 sadhus and 11 sadhvis in 105 small and big vehicles. Those who travelled via Pahalgam route included 3523 men, 680 women, five children, 210 sadhus and 12 sadhvis. They left in 156 small and big vehicles. The yatra is continuing on both routes as the weather is favourable so far. The faith of the devotees can be gauged from the fact that people are queuing up since late night to get the token for instant registration at Saraswati Dham near railway station Jammu. Despite the long queues, the heat and humidity have not been able to dampen the enthusiasm of the devotees.

Immediate registration is going on at Mahajan Hall in the city, Vaishnavi Dham near the railway station and Panchayat Bhawan. A large number of pilgrims are also reaching here, whose online advance passenger registration has been done. The desire to reach Baba’s court first is pulling them. With the monsoon becoming active along with the Yatra, it is raining continuously in many parts of Jammu division. With the progress of the Yatra, the number of devotees is also increasing. So far, more than fifty thousand devotees have had the darshan of Baba Barfani. Right now, the figure of devotees who have had the darshan is not being released by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
