Al Qaeda Terrorist Ameen-Ul-Haque Arrested: Al Qaeda leader and Osama bin Laden’s close associate Amin-ul-Haq has been arrested in Pakistan. Pakistan Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has confirmed this. However, Pakistan’s Home Ministry has not yet made any statement in this regard.

According to a Reuters report, after receiving information, CTD arrested Amin-ul-Haq on Friday (19 July 2024) from Sarai Alamgir town of Gujarat (Pakistan). Earlier in 2008 also he was caught by the Pakistani Army, but then he was released after three years.

Name in the United Nations list of international terrorists

According to sources, Amin ul-Haq is originally from Afghanistan, but a Pakistani ID card has been found with him. The address of Lahore and Haripur is given in this ID card. According to Pakistani channel Geo News, a case has been registered against Amin ul-Haq in Punjab on charges of plotting terrorist attacks. Amin’s name is also included in the United Nations’ list of international terrorists. America also included his name in the list of global terrorists in 2001.

How did a doctor become Laden’s guard?

Amin was born in 1960 in Nangarhar, Afghanistan. He was a doctor by profession. He joined Afghanistan’s terrorist organization Hizb-e Islami Khalis in the 80s and participated in the war against the Soviets. A few years later, he joined Al Qaeda.

Helped in sending Osama to Pakistan

According to a report in the New York Post, when America was searching for Osama bin Laden after the attack on America in December 2001, Amin helped in saving him. He was the one who brought Osama from Afghanistan to Pakistan by hiding him. He also made arrangements for his hiding. Amin was the security coordinator of the Black Guard. The Black Guard was responsible for Osama’s security. In 2007, Amin also came and hid in Pakistan. Here in 2008, he was arrested by the army, but after 3 years, i.e. in 2011, he was released.
