The year 2024 is not going well for actor Akshay Kumar. First his mega budget film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ flopped and now his second film of this year ‘Sarfira’ is also facing the same fate. The opening of the film was very bad and now the collection of the first weekend of the film is also not a good sign for the coming days. The earnings of the first three days of the release of the film ‘Sarfira’ do not even seem to come in the top 50 list of first weekend earnings of all the films released by Akshay Kumar so far. The film ‘Mission Mangal’, which got the first position in this list, earned Rs 97.56 crore in the first weekend of its release in the year 2019.

The first day collection of Akshay Kumar’s new film ‘Sarfira’ was around Rs 2.50 crore. On the second day i.e. Saturday, the film increased its collection by around 70% and earned Rs 4.25 crore, but this amount is not enough to bring the collection of a film of a star like Akshay Kumar to a respectable level. In terms of first weekend earnings, the film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ is at the 50th position among Akshay Kumar’s films, which earned Rs 14.37 crore in the first weekend of its release 17 years ago.

If we look at the figures of the five films in Akshay Kumar’s filmography that are at the 55th position after ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ in the first weekend, then the entry of the film ‘Sarfira’ seems to be somewhere near them. According to the earnings of the first weekend, the names of the films from 51st to 55th position are ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Mission Raniganj’, ‘Bhaagm Bhaag’, ‘Selfie’ and ‘Phir Hera Pheri’. Out of these, ‘Bhaagm Bhaag’ and ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ are both films released in the year 2006.

Akshay Kumar’s last year’s release ‘Mission Raniganj’ had earned 12.60 crores in the first three days of its release and flopped. Akshay’s other film ‘Selfie’ had earned 10.30 crores in the first weekend of its release last year.

Akshay Kumar has three more films scheduled for release this year – ‘Khel Khel Mein’, ‘Sky Force’ and ‘Singham Again’. The shooting of these three films has been completed. Apart from this, six more films of Akshay Kumar are in various stages of production and their release dates have not been decided yet.
